Spectrum Management
According to article 15 and 16 of telecommunication proclamation No. 49/1996 (as amended):
- The Agency is responsible for the management and authorization of the use of frequencies allocated to Ethiopia in accordance with international conventions.
- No person shall, except in accordance with a permit obtained from the Agency, possess, install or operate radio communication apparatus. However, the police, the armed forces and any other services directly employed by the state do not require the Agency's license to perform these activities.
- The Agency may assign, coordinate and monitor frequencies to be used for telecommunication, radiocommunication services and television broadcasting.
